Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this coveted 1969
Ford Mustang Mach One 428CJ. Many Mustang and collector car
enthusiasts alike consider the '69 Mustang fastback the best
looking Mustang to ever roll off the assembly line. The Boss 429
and 302 models are some of the most popular Mustangs of all time.
Following the the "Boss" cars came the Mach Ones and the top dog
was the big block 428 Cobra Jet, which some said could take a "Boss
9" car in the stop light wars. As a result, many of the Cobra Jets
found themselves living their lives a quarter mile at a time on the
drag strip. In 1969, 12,212 of the Machs were "R Code" 428s or
shaker hood cars. In reality, there just isn't alot of these
timeless machines around today. Big blocks Fords are notoriously
cold natured creatures, but pump the gas once and this Cobra Jet
fires right up. An Edlebrock intake adds to the 335 "advertised"
horsepower which was intentionally underrated by FoMoCo to keep
insurance companies happy. Keeping this torque monster cool are an
aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan. The black interior
shows little wear and the candy apple red paint, though an older
respray, still maintains a nice luster. Few cars of the era looked
as menacing as the '69 Mustang and when you saw the Cobra Jet
emblems shaking at the red light next to you, you'd think twice
before starting any trouble. A quick check of the classic car
market will show you that this '69 Mach One "R Code" is priced to
move quickly. This 1969 Mustang Mach One 428CJ is listed by our
