For Sale: 1964 Chevrolet Corvette in Englewood, Florida

Vehicle Description

This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was overhauled and modified under prior ownership before being purchased by the previous owner in October 2021. The body was removed from the frame during the build and refinished in red, the frame was powder-coated black, the seats and door panels were reupholstered in red leather, and a 5.7-liter LS6 V8 from a C5 Z06 was installed. Other equipment includes a five-speed Tremec manual transmission, a gray soft top, side pipes, 18? Schott wheels, Z06 disc brakes, carbon-composite springs, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, a clock, and a Delco AM/FM radio. The brake and reverse lights have been repaired and the ammeter was replaced under current ownership.

The fiberglass bodywork has is said to have been refinished in red during the build by Warman Autoworks of Kaiser, Missouri, and features a stinger-style hood with a silver accent, a gray soft top, and side pipes. Z06 badges are affixed to the hood.

The 18? Schott wheels are mounted with Nitto NT555 tires, and the four-wheel disc brakes are said to have been sourced from a late model Z06 Corvette. The chassis is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering as well as carbon-composite front and rear transverse monoleaf springs.

The seats, door panels, and armrest are said to have been shipped to Germany for reupholstery in red leather with custom stitching. Matching carpets cover the floors, and an analog clock and Delco AM/FM radio are mounted in the center stack.

The red-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The seller notes that the ammeter was replaced in preparation for the sale, and the other gauges were adapted to work with the replacement powertrain. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles, approximately 450 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 5.7-liter LS6 V8 is said to have been sourced from a C5 Corvette Z06 and has been fitted with a carbon-look intake, striped fuel rail covers, and aftermarket accessories. The seller notes the battery was replaced and the crankcase oil was changed in preparation for the sale.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
