Vehicle Description
This 1996 Chevrolet Corvette is one of 1,381 Collector Edition
convertibles produced to commemorate the final year of
fourth-generation Corvette production and now has 23,450 miles. It
is powered by a 5.7-liter LT4 V8 paired with a six-speed manual
transmission and is finished in Sebring Silver Metallic over black
leather. Equipment includes the Selective Ride package, 17 silver
five-spoke alloy wheels, a limited-slip differential, a black
fabric convertible soft top, fog lights, sport seats, a Delco Bose
CD stereo, and automatic climate control. The car was first
delivered to Gustman Chevrolet Sales, Inc. of Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
Work in 2021 included resealing the engine, flushing the
transmission and differential fluids, and recharging the air
conditioning system. This Collector Edition C4 is now offered with
a reproduction window sticker and build sheet, manufacturers
literature, the 2021 service invoice, a car cover, two key fobs, a
clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.
All Collector Edition Corvettes were finished in Sebring Silver
Metallic and featured chrome commemorative badges on the nose,
sides, and rear. Additional equipment includes pop-up headlights,
integrated fog lights, a black fabric convertible soft top,
quadruple taillights, and dual exhaust outlets.
Silver-finished 17 five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 255/45
front and 285/40 rear Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. The
car is equipped with traction control as well as the Selective Ride
package, which added adjustable dampers. Stopping power is provided
by Corvette-branded front calipers over ventilated discs at all
four corners. A low tire pressure warning system was ordered from
the factory and a spare tire was not included.
The cabin features sport seats trimmed in black leather with
Collector-Edition headrest embroidery along with a
color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities
include a six-way power-adjustable drivers seat, cruise control,
automatic climate control, a Delco Bose CD stereo, and power
windows and door locks. The air conditioning system was recharged
in February 2021.
The leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel frames a central
digital speedometer and fuel level monitor as well as analog
instrumentation consisting of a tachometer with a 6,250-rpm redline
and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature,
and battery voltage. The digital odometer indicates 23,450
miles.
The 5.7-liter LT4 V8 was factory rated at 330 horsepower and 335
lb-ft of torque. A February 2021 service included the replacement
of head gaskets and hardware, intake manifold gaskets, exhaust
manifold gaskets, timing cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets, valve
cover gaskets, oil level sensor, power steering cooler line, air
filter, and coolant.
