For Sale: 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in Kentwood, Michigan

This 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo has had just two owners with the second owner purchasing it in 1991 and held until our recent acquisition. This Monte Carlo was originally purchased at Denooyer Brothers Chevrolet, in Kalamazoo MI, on June 7, 1978. The car came dressed in Light Camel Beige exterior paint over Camel Cloth interior with Saddle dash and vinyl accents. It is powered by its 305 CID V8, optional automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. Factory options included: Body side moldings, power brakes, standard emission system, steel belted radials, AM radio. Dealer added air conditioning was installed at the time of purchase.

Both owners used this Monte Carlo as a secondary vehicle and has been driven sparingly in inclimate weather and has not been used in the snow. As a result, at just 100498 miles, this Monte Carlo remains in excellent original condition including mostly if not all original paint, original interior, original trim, bright work etc. Please note that the factory AM radio has been replaced with an updated unit, and the original wheels and wheel covers have been replaced with vintage, SewDel Aluminum wheels skinned with BF Goodrich white letter tires.

The exterior exhibits its original factory fitment including excellent fitting doors with no door sag. The original paint remains deep and glossy and does show a few expected minor flaws consistent with age and use. The original interior remains very clean and tidy. The seat upholstery remains very good and free from rips and tears. The dash has one split that is shown in the photos, other panels show a few scuffs, but overall excellent original.

Mechanically, the 1978 Monte Carlo runs and drives excellent. The engine runs extremely smooth, quiet and strong, the suspension and brakes offer an excellent ride quality.

All generations of Chevrolet's Monte Carlo continue to gain interest in today's collector car market and quality examples, as the car here, are highly sought after. Values are on the rise and this example is an excellent way to enter the collector car arena at a low price of admission. The car is documented with its original window sticker, original dealer warranty pamphlet, original owners manual, original Consumer Information pamphlet, and original Passenger Car Maintenance Schedule 1 brochure.
