Vehicle Description
This 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air Lead Sled showcases a bold red paint
job with white accents, creating a striking two-tone effect. The
body sits low on a modified 1969 Chevy Impala frame, its profile
accentuated by a chopped top. Frenched headlights and a
Corvette-inspired grille give the front end a unique appearance,
while custom extended rear fenders and tailfins create an
unmistakable rear view. Palm Coast Eddie's handiwork is evident in
the intricate pinstriping and hand-painted graphics, including
skulls and bones adorning the roof. The car's clean lines are
maintained with shaved door handles, operated by remote poppers.
Rolling stock consists of body-colored 15" steel wheels with chrome
rings and caps, wrapped in 225/70R15 tires featuring faux whitewall
trim.
Inside, this Bel Air's cabin blends 80s GM style with custom
touches. White vinyl bucket seats with red accents dominate the
front, complemented by a matching rear bench. All seats feature
built-in seatbelts for safety and style. The body-colored dash is a
canvas for extensive pinstriping, housing modern gauges and an
aftermarket steering wheel. A custom center console, borrowed from
a later GM model, integrates the shifter, cupholders, and an
AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth stereo system. The pristine headliner and
functional dome lights add to the interior's polished look. Comfort
is assured with air conditioning, while power windows bring modern
convenience to this classic cruiser.
Under the hood, a 350 V8 engine provides ample power. It's equipped
with a polished aluminum intake and Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor for optimal fuel delivery. An Accel ignition system
ensures reliable spark, while an aluminum radiator with electric
fans maintains ideal operating temperatures. The small block is
paired with a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, offering a
balance of performance and highway cruising capability. Steering
and braking are effortless thanks to power assist, with disc brakes
up front and drums in the rear. The chassis, featuring an
independent front suspension with coil springs and a rear setup
with trailing arms and coils, delivers a smooth ride with a
street-rod stance. Dual exhaust with Dynomax mufflers provides an
appropriate soundtrack for this custom creation.
