According to the SLP Registry, this 1997 Camaro SS was manufactured
on 04/16/1997.
It was registered by its first owner on 05/15/1997 in Charlotte,
North Carolina. You will notice on the CarFax Report that there was
a minor accident reported in 2001. The damage was, according to the
CarFax Report, to the passenger door. We can find no evidence
whatsoever of either that damage or the subsequent repair.
The second owner registered it in Fort Meyers, Florida in October
2005 with 53,473 miles.
The third owner registered it in Schaumburg, Illinois in October
2006 with 57,179 miles. This is where the history gets interesting.
This owner proceeded to destroy the clutch and park the car in his
garage after only driving it for about 1,000 miles. He then got
divorced and the car sat in his ex-wife's garage for the next eight
years.
The fourth owner noticed it in the garage and made an offer to
purchase it. He registered it in Schaumburg, Illinois in June 2014
with 58,195 miles. Over the next ten years, the fourth owner added
only 8,000 miles.
The fourth owner had the following repairs/maintenance completed
during the ten years that he owned it:
- The Clutch and Pressure Plate were replaced (06/14, 58.083
miles)
- Radiator, Water Pump, Serpentine Belt, Spark Plugs (07/17, 63,022
miles)
- Tires replaced (08/17, 63,157 miles)
3rd Coast Motors purchased the Camaro from the fourth owner in June
2024 with only 66,000 miles and drove it from Illinois back to
Norton Shores, Michigan. It now has approximately 66,700 miles.
The following work was completed in preparation for sale:
- The passenger side rear quarter panel was refinished (there were
a lot of door dings from sitting in the ex-wife's garage for
eight years!)
- The Lower Front Bumper was repainted
- The driver's side seat side rear bolster was replaced.
- The Convertible Top rear "Curtain". Was re-glued
- Replaced the Air Conditional Compressor and recharged the
Freon
- Replaced the Thermostat

- Repaired the Squeaky Fan Belt
- Oil & Filter Change
