GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1
Super Cobra Jet (SCJ) for your consideration. This iconic muscle
car, VIN 0F05R155017, has a rich history and has been meticulously
maintained by its current owner since July 28, 2001. With an actual
odometer reading of just 40,072 miles, this Mustang is a rare find
for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Under the hood, you'll find a powerful 428 SCJ engine with the Drag
Pack, paired with a four-speed close-ratio manual transmission.
This setup, along with the 4.30 locking axle ratio, delivers
exhilarating performance and a driving experience that captures the
essence of classic American muscle. The factory options include
power front disc brakes, F70X14 belted tires with raised white
letters, a tachometer, and a rear deck spoiler, enhancing both
performance and aesthetics. The car comes with a complete Marti
Report that showcases these factory options.
The exterior of this Mach 1 is finished in the original Ford color
of Medium Bright Blue Metallic, a striking hue that was carefully
restored in 2005 by Bieri Auto Body in Lowell, MI. The car was
prepped for paint using a soda blasting process to avoid heat
damage to the steel. Any rusted steel was replaced with new body
panels, ensuring the integrity of the car. The chrome and trim
pieces, including bumpers, gas cap, door handles, windshield trim,
hood latches, and rear louver hinges, are original and in excellent
condition. This example currently rides on Cragar S/S wheels which
complement the exterior styling of this Sportsroof Mach 1 to make
for a striking and aggressive exterior appearance.
The interior features a rare and intriguing detail as it is a
complete 1969 black interior (excluding the steering wheel). This
anomaly has been thoroughly researched by the selling owner with
records of conversations with experts extensively recorded, yet no
clear explanation has been found. Regardless, the interior presents
itself exceptionally well.
This Mustang Mach 1 has been stored in a climate-controlled
building and has never been exposed to rain or inclement weather
since its restoration, ensuring its pristine condition. Detailed
receipts, handwritten notes, and part numbers from both the current
and previous owners are available upon request, providing a
comprehensive history of the car's restoration and maintenance.
Accompanying the vehicle is a binder full of historical records,
including receipts, ownership information, and photos from before
any paint or body work was done. The car was built at Dearborn and
produced on January 19, 1970, with a host of factory options that
make it a standout model.
