1963 Oldsmobile Jetfire ‘Turbo Intact’ Factory 4 Speed 2 Door Hardtop.
The car is nicely equipped including rare options like stainless door edge guards, deluxe radio with bi-phonic (rear) speaker, 14 inch wheels (sporting new radials) HD rear springs & ‘Superlift’ rear (Air) shocks. Originally ordered with anti spin differential, we have no history as to when and why that was changed. Its turbo and carburetor have just been professionally rebuilt and the turbo ‘spools up’ quite nicely! The brakes have been rebuilt all around, a full front suspension rebuild including center link. The interior refurbished as needed including new seat covers and the steering wheel restored.
The car has had one repaint to factory colors by the P.O. and it received exceptional quality work and shows like new. Having removed all the trim etc first and it is reported to be virtually ‘rust free’ and our inspection confirms that. All the chrome and trim are in very good condition.
Built in Lancing Michigan and sold at Charlie Cox Oldsmobile in Alabama. In 1988 it was purchased in Sevierville Tennessee by a Canadian couple who brought it to Canada. The car has not seen much use in the last decade of their ownership, and we rescued it in October 2022 with intentions of getting it running, ‘making it right’ - then find it a new owner to drive and show. You will be the only kid on the block with one of these amazing cars! We are Oldsmobile enthusiasts & currently own 6 Oldsmobile’s, 3 of them being Jetfire Turbo cars.
For those who do not know: the 1962/63 Oldsmobile Jetfire was the worlds first Factory Production Turbo car, there were only 9,607 Jetfire’s produced. Now there are only approximately 50 Jetfire’s that are roadworthy or close to it. There are only 6 known ‘1963 factory 4 speed cars’ fully turbo functional and on the road in the WORLD: this is one of them! Having just got this car back on the road this spring, we drive this car regularly and it always draws attention at car shows.
