Vehicle Description
This 1963 Chevrolet Impala is a gorgeous 2 door hardtop with
outstanding options! When Chevrolet introduced the Impala back in
October of 1957 for the 1958 model, it was actually an option
package that elevated the already plush Bel Air to an even more
luxurious trim level. The following year, in 1959, the Impala
became its own separate series and would become a staple in Chevy's
lineup for nearly 50 years. By the early 60s, the Chevrolet Impala
went through a few body style iterations before landing on a
boxier, more modern design that required virtually all new sheet
metal beginning in 1962. For the 1963 model year, the Chevrolet
full size cars were only modestly updated and made their debut in
dealer showrooms starting on September 28, 1962. Up front, the '63
Impala had a cleaner look with the removal of the chrome trim
mounted atop the front quarter panels. The side profile also
featured a cleaner, more elegant look with the '63 side trim being
more reserved and lower stated. At the tail end, the rear facia and
trim became a bit more angular with the addition of the Chevrolet
crest on the decklid. Despite the few minor updates made to the '63
Chevrolets, the GM marque was said to have accounted for three of
every ten automobile sales in 1963. This particular '63 Impala
comes to us from a well-established enthusiast who cared for this
car for nearly 20 years. Powering this '63 Impala is an upgraded
327 Cubic Inch V8 engine fed by an Edelbrock single 4 barrel
carburetor. Exhaust exits the 327 powerplant via a dual exhaust
setup that produces a wonderful throaty sound out the rear
tailpipes. The 327 V8 is backed by an upgraded 700R4 automatic
transmission that makes this 1963 Chevrolet an easy car for just
about anybody to drive. This '63 Chevy Impala comes loaded with
options! Power steering is a welcome addition on this classic
Chevrolet since it makes squeezing into a tight parking space at
the local car show or drive-in a total breeze. Further aiding with
parking efforts are the dual outside chrome mirrors that provide
improved visibility while parking or even while changing lanes
while cruising down the road. This 1963 Impala also comes equipped
with power brakes in all four corners which makes it much easier to
stop especially with all that horsepower under the hood. The
braking system has also been upgraded to include a dual master
cylinder that provides for more reliable braking as well. Riding on
a set of whitewall radial tires mounted on painted steel wheels and
accented with SS spinner style wheelcovers, this '63 Impala hardtop
has a fantastic look and even better ride. The exterior of this
1963 Impala has been refinished in a gorgeous Silver Blue paint
scheme that completes the exterior look of the car. The interior of
this 1963 Chevrolet Impala is an absolutely gorgeous time capsule!
The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered with blue
vinyl and blue cloth inserts, with this upholstery being protected
by a set of period correct plastic seat protectors. The blue
carpeting, two-tone blue steering wheel, upholstered door panels,
and dash are all in wonderful shape as well and all appear to
remain in their stock configuration. A 120 MPH speedometer, fuel
gauge, clock, and indicator lights for engine temperature, oil
pressure, and generator activity are incorporated into the
instrument cluster. This '63 Impala also comes equipped with a
column-mounted 8,000 RPM Equus Pro Tach tachometer and under-dash
cluster of gauges including a temperature gauge, volt gauge, and
oil pressure gauge so that you don't have to rely on the indicator
lights. You'll be able to stay cool while cruising even on the
hottest summer days since this Chevy Impala is equipped with air
conditioning! The dash is completed with a locking glovebox, tissue
dispenser, and push button AM radio. Tucked inside the glovebox is
also an AM/FM/CD entertainment system so you'll be able to listen
to all of your tunes while cruising down the road. Whether you're
buying your first classic car or you're adding to your existing
collection, this 1963 Chevrolet Impala would make an excellent
choice. Give Ellingson's a call today at 763-428-7337!
