1947 through 1955 was a special period for development of the Chevrolet Pickup. Post-war consumers demanded a little more from the utilitarian pickups that had been around for nearly 50 years. In 1947, Chevrolet introduced the "Advance-Design" styling for its trucks and demand took off! The first redesign since WWII, this truck hit the spot and has never slowed down.

Art & Speed is pleased to offer one of the rarest and most beautiful trucks remaining from this era. This 1951 3600 was purchased new and owned by one southern family for the better part of 70 YEARS! This truck has full documentation of its history, ownership chain, original purchase, and a family certified letter documenting the originality of the 24,046 original miles! The original Fathom Green Metallic paint was refinised some years ago, along with a new bench seat cover, but both look like they were completed yesterday. The original bed wood was replaced with Locust Wood by the original family and looks like new. This truck has clearly been carefully maintained in an in-door environment.

The original Thrift Mast 6-cylinder was removed, cleaned, refinished and reinstalled to showroom condition without the need for rebuild. In fact, this truck runs and drives as smooth and quietly as it did when delivered new.
