Vehicle Description
1985 BMW Alpina B7 Turbo This second generation B7 turbo,
introduced in April 1985 was known as the fastest 4-door sedan
produced in the world. Only 236 cars were produced. Extended
ownership with excellent maintenance records. No accident history
or paintwork. Here is a summary from the preivious owner: This
impressive 1985 Alpina B7/1 Turbo #116 is on offer by its third
owner who has invested a documented $50k+ during his 10+ years with
the car to bring it to tip-top mechanical and cosmetic condition.
One of only 236 built by Alpina at their Buchloe, Germany
facilities between 1984 and 1987, the car was imported when new to
Tennessee but spent most of its life in Georgia. Said to be one of
only six in the US, power is in the order of 300+ HP and 369 lb-ft
of torque thanks to Alpina-engineered tricks like a reprogrammed
Motronic injection system, modified cylinder head, lighter pistons,
different cam, header and three-inch exhaust. Suspension and brakes
are also unique to the B7/1 Turbo, and this specific example is
said to have won multiple concours and car shows during the past
10+ years as well. Described as fast, sorted and meticulously
detailed, it is offered with full records from day one. Resprayed
in factory Diamond Black Metallic by the current owner in 2009
during a cosmetic restoration, correct OEM style Alpina graphics
were carefully reapplied on top. The seller describes overall
exterior condition a 9 on a scale of ten. Alpina turbine alloys
show no rash, peeling or discoloration, while trim-including the
TUV-mandated rubber safety rear wing-all have been replaced. E28s
with proper Euro bumpers have generally wonderful proportions, and
the full Alpina treatment definitely adds. The interior remains
all-original and looks great with Alpina spec upgraded pearl
leather Recaro sport seats in front and matching upholstery in the
rear. Cool features like the leather-covered dash and
Alpina-specific, Blaupunkt upgraded head unit and Panasonic
speakers, VDO-made computer/vent unit housed in the center of the
dash help visually distinguish the cabin from standard E28s, a
theme continued with branded gauges, steering wheel, wooden shift
knob, and leather door cards. It all looks very clean, the seller
applying the same 9 out of ten descriptor to the interiors
condition. The cars single KKK K27 turbo was rebuilt. The seller
says that even by modern standards the car remains very fast-period
performance figures included sub 6 second 0-60 MPH times and a top
speed of nearly 170 MPH. Spares include extra rear light
assemblies, Complete Alpina shocks and Alpina springs, while
