The fifth generation Continental by Lincoln was introduced in 1970
and would run the decade until 1979. Another little known fact is
that the 1977-1979 Lincoln Continentals are the longest automobiles
ever produced by Ford Motor Co. with a little help with the
addition of the 5MPH bumpers that were now standard. It was a body
on Frame construction....A lot of Frame! There would be several
revisions throughout the years, but the biggest came in 1975 after
being on the market already for five years, most notably a huge
brake upgrade. This car would share its platform with its Ford and
Mercury cousins on a couple models. This particular absolute cream
puff is a 100% Survivor, never leaving a one county radius. It has
traveled less than 40,000 miles from new and still looks fantastic.
No paint work, no interior work, no engine work......stock, 100%.
This 460 comes to life with the flick the key, idles easy, shifts
and brakes nicely and goes down the road like a dream or a cloud or
a couch....whatever it is, its smooth. This is a ton of car for the
money and would make someone a great cruiser or parade vehicle.
