Pontiac first introduced the GTO as an optional package on its Tempest model in 1964. Credited with starting the Muscle Car rage, the GTO moved on the become its own model in 1965, with all major automakers quickly introducing a model to challenge its success. With an emphasis on street racing; the GTO was a clear front-runner among muscle cars. in 1968, Pontiac restyled the GTO, providing a more curvaceous body with semi fastback styling. New design features included horizontally aligned headlights, hidden wipers and optional hidden headlights. The '68 GTO's design was a significant departure from the model's first-generation styling but was extremely well received. For the 1969 model year, small changes were made including a slight grill and taillight revision, rear side marker lamp changes, optional hide-a-way headlamps and the ignition key being moved to the steering column.

This matching-numbers 1969 Pontiac GTO was purchased in St. Louis, MO, and has been well-maintained. Finished in it's factory Matador Red color with a Black Cordova top over the Parchment Color interior. Its powered by its factory equipped 400ci V8 engine producing 350hp backed by a Turbo Hydramatic 3 speed automatic transmission. The original chassis and floors are rust-free and have never been replaced. This well-optioned GTO comes equipped with Safe-T-Track differential and power disc brakes. The exterior features a black Cordova top, hideaway headlights, Endura energy-absorbing front bumper, remote mirror, tinted glass, power decklid and a dealer-installed hood tachometer with spoiler. Some interior features include a center console, radio, visor mirror, clock and Rally gauges. Its riding on factory-installed Rally II wheels. It includes PHS paperwork and build information. This '69 would be a terrific additional to any collection.

The paint condition, Chrome and Glass are all exceptionally good, as is the rest of the car. The Car runs and drives out strong.
