Vehicle Description
CSX9178
The Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe was the final piece of the puzzle
that Shelby American needed to capture the FIA sports car world
championship. It won the crown in 1965, becoming the only American
manufacturer to do so. Peter Brock designed the slick, aerodynamic
body that gave the Daytona the edge on high-speed tracks around the
world. Only six Daytona coupes were built during the 1960s, but
they carved out an unforgettable racing legacy.
The CSX9000 series is a modern evolution of the car that ruled the
track in 1965. Penned by original designers Peter Brock and Bob
Negstad and constructed by Shelby American, the CSX9000
Continuation Daytona Coupes have a larger passenger compartment
than the original race cars, allowing for greater comfort, and
feature a tubular space frame constructed of mild steel.
CSX9178 carries on that championship spirit with its Bianco Fuji
white Pearl with Viper blue stripes exterior accompanied by diamond
black out trim, with a matching center diamond black stripe.
Accents include a period correct Le Mans-style fuel filler cap, a
rear spoiler, standard reverse light, Shelby signature door
latches, functional ducts and scoops for cooling and brakes, and
custom diamond black wheels shoed with Falken rubbers!.
