In 1962, Carroll Shelby took the sports car world by storm when it
introduced the CSX2000 Cobra. Shelby American took the AC "Ace"
chassis, inserted a new small block Ford engine and re-engineered
the car to handle all the additional power. Weighing only 2,020
pounds, the Cobra easily vanquished sports cars from Jaguar,
Chevrolet, Porsche, Aston Martin and others.
In 2012 Shelby American unveiled a limited edition 289 cobra to
commemorate 50 years of the production of the Shelby 289 Slab Side.
Only 50 were built and all wear a beautiful Black painted body with
custom Red interior.
Powered by a Southern Automotive built 289 stroked to 354ci. It is
mated to a Toploader 4 speed manual and has Weber IDA 48
carburetors.
CSX8998 is titled in Florida as a 1962 Shelby. With only 16 miles!
on the odometer, CSX8998 is available for $264,950.00
