Super clean F250 4x4 long bed. Great-running 460 cubic inch V8,
automatic transmission. Loaded with options, including power
windows and locks, A/C, cruise, dual tanks, and more. A big truck
restored to look good but still equipped to work hard.Big Ford
trucks are red hot right now, so what could be more appropriate
than this bright red 1984 Ford F250 4x4? Coming from a home where
it was lovingly restored to factory specs, it is one of the best of
its kind that we've seen. It benefits from a thorough restoration
that stripped it down to just a chassis and cab and rebuilt from
there. The bright red paint is the truck's original color, and it's
a nice change from all the beige and brown examples from this
period?it looks awesome. Finish quality is surely better than when
Ford was doing it in the '80s and the doors still close with that
distinctive sound. The 8-foot bed was removed and repainted, then
finished with a spray-on bedliner and tonneau cover so it's ready
to work if that's something you decide to do. Much of the chrome is
original and in excellent condition, although a few items are new,
including the NOS tailgate insert. There's a new bumper out back,
chrome tubular step plates to make getting in a little easier, and
big side mirrors in case you want to tow a trailer with your new
F250. We also like the cab lights, which give it a big rig vibe,
and all the stainless trim has been buffed so it looks as good as
new. From every angle, this truck looks fantastic and that's not an
illusion. The interior features funky gray plaid cloth on the wide
bench seat, an accurate reproduction of the original fabric. Gray
carpets and nice original door panels look sophisticated rather
than utilitarian, and plenty of faux wood warms things up a bit.
There's a little wear on the driver's door where someone's elbow
has been resting for the past 40 years, but otherwise the interior
is outstanding. You'll note a full complement of instruments,
joined by an aftermarket tachometer under the dash, and they're all
operational. Factory options include factory A/C (blows cold),
power windows and locks, and cruise control (yes, it works!), as
well as dual tanks for exceptional range on the highway. The
original radio is gone, replaced by a Kenwood AM/FM/Bluetooth/USB
head unit that sounds worlds better, and they've thoughtfully added
a second power outlet with USB connections for your GPS and phone.
Rubber mats protect the carpets and a sliding rear window makes it
pleasant to be inside on days when you don't need the A/C. Even the
headliner was replaced and shows extremely well. Obviously a lot of
money went into this restoration. For power, the F250 uses its
original 460 cubic inch V8, Ford's biggest and most powerful engine
at the time. It remains largely stock and with just 89,000 miles on
the clock, has never been opened. It makes plenty of oil pressure,
doesn't smoke, and delivers big torque right where you need it. A
few dress-up items make it sparkle under the hood and almost
everything around the engine is new, including the water pump. It
starts easily, idles nicely, and generally works like it should,
making it easy to forget that this truck is celebrating its 40th
birthday. It's backed by a freshly rebuilt 3-speed automatic
transmission and 2-speed transfer case, which works with manual
locking front hubs to provide exceptional off-road traction. The
front end is Ford's legendary 'Twin I-Beam' suspension with massive
disc brakes, while the rear is full of 4.10 gears which give it
plenty of pulling power. You can see that the underside is
extremely clean and while it hasn't been restored, there is
absolutely no sign of rust or rot anywhere on this truck. It runs a
true dual exhaust system that sounds muted but muscular, and sits
on new 17-inch aluminum wheels with big 265/70/17 Continental
radials all around.Documentation includes the original owner's
manual plus some restoration receipts and photos. This is one of
those honest trucks that seems to have lived a good life. It wasn't
bashed and abused on a job site, but rather seems to have been a
weekend worker that stayed out of the elements. The restoration
work is very well done and we can't argue with the result?it runs
and drives quite well. If you've been looking for a big Ford
pickup, we think you'll have a hard time finding one better than
this. Call today!Harwood Motors always recommends and welcomes
