Vehicle Description
This 1967 Corvette Convertible 427/435HP was produced on and
4/2/1967 sold new at Gates Chevrolet in Mishawaka, Indiana
according to its NCRS Shipping Data Report. As all cars have
stories some more elaborate than other this Corvette has one of the
most interesting stories we have ever heard and it is all spelled
out in the extensive documentation and owner history. A prominent
businessman in the metals and foundry business purchased this car
new off the showroom floor for his son who would soon be going too
to college at one of the most prestigious Catholic Faith University
in the Country Notre Dame University in Notre Dame Indiana. The
agreement was that so long as his son kept his grades in good
standing the corvette was his! If has grades were failing the
corvette would be taken away and he would be driving a Volkswagen
as his form of transportation. As the first semester had come to an
end so did the students Corvette ownership as his grades were
failing. His father had donated the Corvette to the Priests of
Notre Dame and his son would never get his corvette back.
Eventually the corvette went through some hands and the car ended
up with Jay an NCRS member and a man very persistent to track the
ownership of his newly acquired corvette back to the original owner
in search of any information he could find that would lead him to
the original owner. After many letters to the DMV and the Priest of
Notre Dame he was put in contact with a man at the Auburn Cord
Duesenberg Museum who was able to put Jay in contact with the
original owner's son who first owned the corvette while in college.
All the correspondence are mapped out in the documentation
provided. Jay had owned a 1965 Corvette Fuel Injected Coupe Prior
to his ownership of this corvette that ended up being counterfeit
so it was his main priority to make sure that this car was a 100%
legitimate car before starting the restoration that is why all the
time and effort was important to him. Jay Restored the Corvette and
took the car around the judging circuit and sine it has gone though
some Collectors hand and ended up in Ron From Ontario Canada
collection where he took the car around the national judging
circuit he received an NCRS Top Flight Award, Bloomington Gold OEM
Award, MCACN Gold Concourse Award and A MCACN Triple Diamond Award.

CCAS Crank Case Affirmation Certificate
