Vehicle Description

Here we have a 1940 Packard 120 Club Coupe for sale. This car was comprehensively restored for 3 years in Oregon, Sold overseas, and then imported from England back to the U.S. Considering there were estimated only to be 2500 of these built and just a few in the registry this is a rare example of an All Steel quality Packard. It's finished with an impeccable eye for detail and will make you a car ready to show or cruise! Don't miss your chance at one of the nicest Packard's we've ever owned. In the following paragraphs, we will briefly describe this Packard's exterior, interior, and driveline, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.

We will start with the exterior of this One Twenty Club Coupe. It's done in its iconic factory styling and is a stunning example of what a quality restoration should look like. The body on it is rock solid with stunning lines and an excellent fit of all the panels. It's showcased in the French Blue Paint scheme that has been buffed and polished a gorgeous finish that's slick as a ribbon. Up front, we can see the grills, bumper, lights and three bar guards are all beautiful. It even has Packard dual driving lights, original hood ornament, and hood louvers. Down the sides are arrow straight with excellent running boards and mats. The French Blue is accented by the correct white pin stripping around the side glass, all of which is beautiful and functional as it should be. Out back is equally impressive, as it features the correct rear bumper with guards. It also has the Packard script reverse light & gas cap along with auxiliary turn signals. You'll even notice that all the seals and weather stripping have been done making for one of the best rides while you cruise. To complete the look it's sitting on the 16" Steel Wheels painted in the Vermillion Red Wheels with the White Pine Stripes, Packard Hub Caps, Beauty Rings, and a set of BF Goodrich Silvertown Wide White Tires,
Next, we will look at the interior of this '40 Club Coupe. On the inside, it's done in the factory stock style with the wool interior from Bill Hirsch with the correct piping and stitching by Guys Interior. This Packard is optioned with the rear bench seat which would have come out in '41. However, it can be removed to give you the business coupe style or to use the rear jump seats that fold down from behind the rear panels. The door panels have contrasting wool which is also correct for the '40 year. Of course, new door handles, window cranks, and plastics were replaced. The floor mat and sill plates were not replaced at the time of the restoration, but they are in phenomenal condition. The deluxe heater and radio options were gone through at the time of the restoration. Looking at the dash tops of the doors we can see it has been redone with the correct style single grain that looks amazing. It still has the factory gauges that are all working as they should. The factory steering wheel was sent off to be redone and the horn is working as it should along with the turn signals. The headliner was redone and has a phenomenal fit and finish along with the visors. Inside the trunk is all rock solid and has been painted to match the exterior. It does come with the spare and trunk mat to give it a neat and clean finish.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Packard. Under the hood, it's powered by the correct 282 Inline 8 Cylinder engine that was completely gone through at the time of the restoration. The carb was rebuilt along with the generator, regulator, fuel pump, water pump, and even the radiator was gone through. A new harness was installed as well and this car does have the Over Drive option. The exhaust manifold was ceramic coated inside and out and all new exhaust was installed as well. The 282 engine runs through the 3 Speed Manual Transmission that was redone at restoration along with the stock rear end that was also gone through. All the suspension has been gone through as well and makes for tight handling classic that can be easily enjoyed. The braking system was also redone, and this car stops true as it should. When we look under it there's no denying the quality and effort that went into this restoration. All the metal is rock solid and shows no signs of abuse from the floors to the frame. The floors have been redone in French Blue and the frame was painted in black. This truly is one of the nicest Packard's we've ever seen and will make you a great addition to the family!
