Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this
highly original 1973 Ford Thunderbird. Through the mid-century era,
Ford's Thunderbird was a longstanding leader in the personal luxury
coupe segment. These sixth generation Thunderbirds (1972-76) were
the largest and heaviest Thunderbirds ever built by Ford, with a
curb weight of almost 4500lbs. With a total length of 225 inches,
you will see the sun move west in the sky just walking from the
trunk to the engine compartment! Under the hood of this big bird is
the optional 460 CID V8! This torque monster is paired to a 3-speed
automatic so just imagine how this car can get up and go or cruise
smoothly down the highway. The cabin received a split front bench
seat and blue vinyl upholstery from the factory. The interior has
several luxuries such as fingertip Speed Control, a power driver
seat, an electric rear window defroster, and an AM/FM radio. A
two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 120-mph speedometer, a
fuel-level gauge and a clock. In the last year, this Thunderbird
has also had a new carburetor, 4 new BF Goodrich Radial T/A's & a
new exhaust added, so this TBird is road trip ready! This is a very
composed car to drive with almost as many creature comforts as a
modern car and it makes you feel like you own the road compared
with all the compact cars most people drive today. This is a time
capsule that will fit nicely in any collection, or simply make a
really cool weekend cruiser!
