The classic 560SL was the final version of Mercedes-Benz's landmark
107 series 'coupe/roadster.' It featured always-admired styling,
typical Mercedes engineering and all the mechanical upgrades made
over the years, evolving a bulletproof 5.6 liter V8 drivetrain,
effective A/C, driver's airbag and ABS brakes. They are fabulous,
reliable cars capable of high-speed cruising that can be easily
serviced in any city and have modern safety features-plus that
year-round capability with a snug hardtop.
Many 560SLs are well past a quarter-million miles today, but this
Florida car still has only 92K-one family had it for 18 years. It
has a clean CarFax report with no past accident issues and has been
well maintained over the years. Receipts show regular oil services
and in the last couple years the car has gotten over $10K in work
including new battery, A/C blower & compressor with updated
refrigerant, new ball joints, coolant hoses & belts, steering box,
alignment, brake lines, pads & rotors, shocks and new Pirelli
tires.
The black convertible top was recently replaced, the interior is
inviting and the car runs & drives very well. The silver paint
looks great and combined with the gray interior, gives a classy
look. We have the owner's books and the original spare is still in
the trunk. Ultra-low-mileage 'garage queen' 560SLs command prices
over $60,000 today, but they aren't any more fun to enjoy a weekend
with than this car is for less than half the investment! You can
put 5000 miles of fun on this car and not affect its value at
all.
