Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1980 Mercedes-Benz 280GE
Cabriolet. This W460 was imported to the US and federalized in 2000
by Europa International, who for many years was the exclusive
supplier of G-Wagens to the US market (at least until US
Mercedes-Benz dealers starting selling new G-Wagens in 2002).
Finished in the very attractive shade of Agave Green, paint and
body are excellent with no known rust issues. Factory alloy wheels
are wearing BF Goodrich Baja tires, complete with a matching spare
on a swing-away carrier. Front brush guard and supplemental
bumper-mounted driving lights are welcome additions that are both
functional and stylish.
Interior presents nicely with front buckets and rear jump seats
upholstered in grey leather. A gun rack has been mounted to the
floor between the front seats just aft of the center console. A
modern Continental stereo features Bluetooth, USB and aux input.
All gauges, lights, switches and indicators are working properly.
The five-digit odometer is showing just over 11,000 miles.
Under the hood is a 2.8 liter gasoline-powered straight six mated
to a four-speed manual transmission. Under present enthusiast
ownership for three years, all service is up to date. Sold on a
clean and clear South Carolina title. Included with the sale are
the original sales invoice from Europa and service records dating
to 2000. While we've owned and brokered many W460 and W463
gelandewagens over the years, it's quite rare to see the soft-top
cabriolet variant (the even more rare power-operated top debuted in
1997 - prior to that, the manual top seen here was the only
option). For more information about this 1980 Mercedes-Benz 280GE
Cabriolet for sale at Motorcar Studio in Savannah, please call
