DefenderExtensive Records and Long Term OwnershipHighly and
Correctly CustomizedThis 1995 Land Rover Defender 90, a rare North
American Specification (NAS) example, has been with the same family
since 2000 and is one of approximately 1,700 units imported into
the US for that model year. Only 1190 soft tops were produced for
1995. Powered by a 3.9-liter V8 engine paired with a five-speed
manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, this Defender
is finished in striking AA Yellow with Charcoal cloth and vinyl
upholstery. The exterior features AA Yellow paint with black
extended wheel-arch flares, a Rock Ware front bumper, and Safari
Gard rock sliders. It is equipped with a Superwinch X9 winch with
synthetic rope, LED auxiliary lighting including LED-converted
Hella Euro-style H4 headlamps, a 15-ton pintle hitch, and a
reinforced rear tire carrier. The vehicle also comes with a new
black soft top, along with a Bestop Surrey top, and Badger
Coachworks tonneau and bikini tops.The Defender rides on Safari
Gard 15? steel wheels with 35?12.5? Dick Cepek Extreme Country
tires, and a matching spare tire is mounted on a swing-out carrier.
Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at all four corners,
complemented by Safari Gard stainless-steel braided brake lines.
The suspension system includes a 5' lift kit with RTE Welding and
Fabrication coil springs and remote reservoir Fox Shocks (12?
front, 14? rear), RTE articulation cones, check straps, adjusted
radius arms, control-arm extensions, and an extended adjustable
Panhard bar. Recent suspension work alone was over $10,0000. The
vehicle also features aftermarket extended rear shock mounts,

the original seats and forward-facing rear bench, along with a
black dashboard and door panel inserts with map pockets and
speakers. A Sony audio system with Bluetooth connectivity is housed
in a Tuffy locking center console, and additional interior features
include aftermarket speakers, air conditioning, rubber floor
coverings, and aftermarket rocker switches. The two-spoke steering
wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, along
with gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The odometer
shows 11k miles, but with an estimated total mileage of
approximately 103k miles.The 3.9-liter V8 engine is rated at 182
horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. Modifications include a K&N
air filter, Borla cat-back exhaust, stainless-steel fuel lines and
braided oil-cooler lines, an Optima Yellowtop battery, and a custom
aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The air conditioning was
serviced and the belts replaced in May 2022. Power is sent to all
four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a
dual-range transfer case. The Defender is equipped with an ARB
onboard air compressor, a front ARB Air Locker differential, a rear
Detroit Locker differential, GBR 4.11:1 ring-and-pinion gears,
aftermarket front and rear axles, axle flanges, and front CV cages.
It also has Tom Wood's double-cardan driveshafts, and skid plates
for the differentials, steering, and fuel tank.
