In 1974-1975, Porsche followed up the legendary 1973 Carrera RS
with the launch of the updated new G-series body MFI Carrera 911,
which included the 'short' hood, new impact-resistant front and
rear bumpers, a non-reflective filler strip between the taillights,
unobtrusive side rockers, a front spoiler that improved high-speed
stability and wider fenders to accommodate larger staggered Fuchs
forged alloy wheels 6" x 15" front and 7" x 15" rear. The most
important distinction was the impressive 210-horsepower 2.7-liter
flat six-cylinder (Type 911/83) from the previous 1973 Carrera RS,
with Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection (MFI). New smog and
fuel-efficiency regulations at the time precluded these 2.7 "MFI"
Carreras from being imported to the United States. Instead, US-spec
Carrera 2.7 models were given the significantly less powerful
2.7-liter flat-six from the 911 S with 165 horsepower. The Carrera
2.7 MFI Coupe was a rarity in the rest of the world, with a limited
production of only 518 examples for 1975.
According to the French Certificate of Authenticity, this 911
Carrera 2.7 MFI was initially delivered to Italy in May of 1975,
with Italian registration showing the past owners from 1975 to
2012. It was then imported into France in January of 2013 before
being imported into the United States later in 2013 and registered
in New Hampshire. The sales manager of European Collectibles
purchased this MFI in 2022 and has driven the 911 over 2,000
kilometers on several Porsche rallies. The stance and handling are
truly amazing. This Carrera MFI hugs the road and has incredible
torque and performance. Vision Motorsports in Laguna Hills,
California, has tuned the engine, and it runs phenomenally well.
The compression is 150 lbs across all 6 cylinders.
Originally finished in a Black exterior with a Black/Blue interior.
The Black paintwork is in stunning condition with Red Carrera
script down the sides and red centers on the Fuch alloy wheels with
anodized lips. Both the body and undercarriage are solid and
rust-free. The interior is also in exceptional condition with an
original black dash with no cracks, a leather-wrapped steering
wheel, leather seats, headliner, radio delete, and all the VDO
instrumentation are deatiled and work, including the clock. The
Fuch alloy wheels have been upgraded to 7" x 15" front and 8" x 15"
rear and are mounted to new Pirelli P6000 195 70 R15 front and 215
80 R15 rear tires which have been recently installed. Factory
options included tinted windows with heated rear windshield, power
windows, 5-speed manual transmission, Dunlop tires, and a whail
tail delete for Italy.
Mechaniaclly powered by the matching engine No. 6650632 (Type
911/83) 2.7-liter, 2687 cc, six-cylinder, with Nikasil cylinders,
Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection (MFI), 8.5:1 Compression Ratio, 210
horsepower @ 6300 rpm and 188.4 foot-pounds torque @ 5,100 rpm. The
transmission is a manual 5-speed Type 915/43 with a four-wheel disc
braking system. Total unloaded weight is 2370 pounds (1075 kg),
0-100Km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 240 km/h
(149 mph).
This is a rare opportunity for any collector to acquire a Porsche
911 Carrera 2.7 MFI in beautiful condition cosmetically and
mechanically. It is turn-key ready for its next owner. The 1975
Carrera MFI has the same weight and engine that powered the 1973
911 RS Carrera. Complete with a Certificate of Authenticity,
owner's manual, service records, tool kit, jack, space saver spare,
and tire inflator.
