detailed ground up restoration top to bottom and looks amazing.
Originally advertised as capable of traveling up a 67% grade, this
is a very capable vehicle that is just as comfortable on paved
roads as it is on the trails! The Fj43 is a foot longer than the
FJ40. Because of its more limited production and larger cargo area
they are desirable to collectors and enthusiasts. They have reached
some of the highest prices among all the Land Cruisers with one
hitting $266,800 recently!
EXTERIOR: The FJ43 is a foot longer and it's all in the in back.
This color really stands out in the crowd! It has fresh looked and
neatly applied Petty blue paint that was polished to a reflective
and glossy finish. Every bolt has been replaced and it's complete
with a new cloth soft top. The rear has roll upside curtains, the
plastic is as clear as glass. It's equipped with very desirable
ambulance style rear doors and has a step plate to get in the back.
It has dual tow hooks and rubber bumper guards. The original
windshield that folds down has some minor scratches. New rubber
seals on all the windows. We just replaced the manual locking hubs.
It has 5 new beefy BF Goodrich all-terrain T/A KO2 tires mounted to
the correct 15" steel wheels with polished hubcaps.
INTERIOR: A utilitarian interior that's been completely refinished!
All the seats have been recushioned and reupholstered and look like
new. The rear is a foot longer giving you a huge cargo area. It is
equipped with jump seats that are inward facing and can be folded
up. The inside of the doors and dash has been nicely repainted the
same color as the body. It has a three-spoke steering wheel, 160
km/h speedometer, electronic wipers, additional gauges for oil
pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level too. The
steering column and wheel appear to be original. The floor mounted
manual shifter and 4-wheel drive selector knobs have both been
replaced. The floors front to back have been covered with black
vinyl that fits perfectly. It has a very finished look with bound
edges and can easily be lifted out if you need to hose down and dry
the interior. It's equipped with 3-point safety belts and a dash
mounted grab bar on the passenger side.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a fresh looking 3.9 liter
inline 6 cylinder engine. Many consider this motor to be
unstoppable and this one just got a new radiator, carburetor,
ignition coil, distributor, ignition points, and spark plugs.
Everything looks clean and factory correct. It starts easily and
runs fantastic. It's equipped with power steering and power brakes
that are a much appreciated upgrade. The Toyota battery is properly
secured. It even has the correct windshield washer solvent bag and
the squirters are hooked up. The underside of the hood, fender
wells, and firewall are all painted the same color as the body.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Gain access by swinging the brand new rear
mounted full size spare tire on a matching rim out of the way to
access the two ambulance style doors. The back side of the doors
were painted glossy just like the body. All the weather stripping
was replaced. Fold up the rear seats and you have a huge covered
cargo area. The vinyl floor mat is also brand new. Under the mat is
all clean metal neatly painted black.
UNDERSIDE: The underside of this truck has been well preserved,
freshened up, and maintained as needed! The steering and suspension
components all look good and currently work well. All the shocks
have been replaced. It has all new brake components and even the
wheel cylinders were replaced. It has a fresh looking exhaust
system. Looking up at the 3.9 L inline 6 cylinder engine it's nice
and clean with fresh looking black paint. The 3 speed manual
transmission is also nice and clean. It also has a dual range
transfer case that is in great shape. The entire frame and all the
metal is clean and solid and has been freshened up with satin black
paint.
SERVICE: Our lead mechanic completed a thorough inspection on this
FJ and replaced the temperature sending unit, repaired the
temperature gauge, replaced the headlight fuse, straightened the
steering wheel, adjusted the brakes, repaired the emergency brake
pedal, and replaced the manual hubs.
Toyota goes where wheels never went before! Jump in the driver seat
of this one and go anywhere your heart desires. With the
reliability of the bulletproof inline 6 cylinder engine and serious
off-road capabilities there's nothing that can stop you!
