Vehicle Description
Introduced in 1959 as coupe utility vehicles, the El Camino was
essentially a sedan front end mated with a utility bed on a General
Motors wagon chassis to create a versatile pickup. It would come in
5 generations of styling changes with the final iteration spanning
from 1978 through 1987. These final versions came on the GM G-body
platform with a few engine choices and numerous accessory options,
with a Conquista package offering special two-tone paint treatment
separated by special body side chrome trim. Just 13,743 El Caminos
were produced in 1987, marking the lowest production of the fifth
generation's 10 year run!
We are excited to offer this 1987 Chevrolet El Camino finished in
the Conquista Package Dark Red Metallic and Silver Metallic
two-tone paint scheme with full chrome body side moldings. Inside,
the interior is finished in soft Maroon Cloth with a split bench
and center armrest. Options and accessories include new crate GM
5.7L V8 engine fitted with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and Holley
4-bbl 600cfm carburetor, TH200-4R overdrive transmission, Four
Seasoning air conditioning, power windows & locks, remote outside
driver mirror, tilt steering column, F41 Sport Suspension, updated
15" American Racing TorqueThrust D alloy wheels wrapped in General
Altimax RT radial tires, rubber bed mat, Pioneer AM/FM/CD player,
and tinted window glass.
This lovely El Camino sold new on October 31st, 1987 in New Albany,
MS and stayed with the original owner until approximately 2004. It
would stay in the Mississippi area through 2006 before finding a
new home in Michie, TN. While in the care of this new owner, the
original LG4- 305ci V8 was replaced with the new 350ci V8 engine
for added power and performance along with a complete, professional
repaint of the car's exterior, addition of Super Sport decals, and
custom wheels! An added set of Sunpro auxiliary gauges were fitted
at the center of the dash for easy engine monitoring. It continues
to show exceptionally well today and has been clearly pampered with
a garage kept lifestyle! It would trade hands only twice since this
restoration, finding itself most recently inherited by the former
owner's son located here in Missouri.
It was recently serviced in July 2024 to include new engine
oil/filter, along with a new air conditioning compressor, belt, and
refrigerant. It drives out wonderfully and shows beautifully under
the sun. The rear cargo bed is in absolutely terrific condition and
the undercarriage remains free of any rust concerns. The vehicle
will come with its original owner's manual, warranty booklet, tire
