Highly original and beautifully restored Firebird Bandit Edition
Turbo Trans Am.
Although it is difficult to find precise figures on the number of
1981 Trans Am Bandit Edition Turbo models produced, but estimates
suggest between 30 and 40 were built by Trans AM Specialties. Hot
Rod Network notes that the initial plan was for 200, but this was
never fully realized.
Trans Am Specialties of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, played a pivotal
role in the history of the 1981 Pontiac Firebird "Bandit Edition"
Turbo Trans Am. While Pontiac never officially released a "Bandit
Edition," Trans Am Specialties obtained licensing rights from
Universal Studios, the producers of the "Smokey and the Bandit"
films, to create a limited run of these special vehicles.
Today, these "Bandit" Trans Ams by Trans Am Specialties are
considered rare collectors items, representing a unique
intersection of pop culture and automotive history. Their limited
production numbers and direct association with the iconic film
franchise contribute to their desirability among enthusiasts.
We encourage you to search recent auction results. You will not
find a Bandit Edition by Trans Am Specialties anywhere priced this
low.
New paint, new decals, new tires, new, new, new, new.
You will not be disappointed. Actual mileage is 109K.
Financing Available AOC.
