This Corvette was built in St. Louis, Missouri at the GM Factory.
While 1953 was the first year of production for the Corvette, 1954
only had small changes to the first model year. The original sales
price of this car was $2774 and only 3,640 Corvettes were produced
in 1954.
The power plant in this Corvette is a Blue Flame inline 6 cylinder
engine that is naturally aspirated with 3, one barrel Carter side
draft carburetors. The displacement is 235.5 cu. in. (3.9 liters)
and produces 155 bhp at 4200 rpm. The redline for this engine is
5000 rpm. The Transmission is a 2-speed Power Glide automatic.
This Corvette has only two modifications to the original design.
The electrical system was modified from a 6 volt system to a 12
volt system. The dual exhaust was rerouted to exit behind the rear
wheels to prevent heat deterioration for the fiberglass at the
original location through the rear bumper
