-Metallic Silver, Black roof panel with Black Leather Interior and
Black Carpeting, 6.3 Liter V8 with 4-Speed Automatic Transmission,
Factory sunroof, Matching numbers, Mercedes data card.
The 6.3 liter is a wolf in sheeps clothing, the 500E of its day and
was the fastest sedan produced from Mercedes, which had performance
similar to most dedicated sports cars and American muscle cars of
the era. It could cruise at over 125 mph with 5 occupants in
comfort. Air suspension, ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels,
power windows, central locking and power steering all came
standard. Just over 6,500 of the 300 SEL 6.3s were built.
Once described by Road & Track magazine as "...merely the greatest
sedan in the world" the 300 SEL 6.3 has gained recognition as a
true automobile enthusiast and collector's icon. It is considered
one of the finest four-door saloon cars ever made.
This 300 SEL 6.3 comes from a Mercedes Benz enthusiasts collection
where it has been serviced, maintained and restored when and where
needed. Most recently, this 300 SEL has received, new tires, full
service, air suspension servicing as well as injection pump and
injectors servicing. All body lines are excellent and shows no
signs of any accidents, damage or rust repair. The 6.3 runs and
drives extremely well, its interior is superb having been well
cared for.
This is an exception example of a hand-built Mercedes Benz's of the
era, ready for immediate enjoyment and touring pleasure and offers
investment potential within the Mercedes enthusiast collector
world.
