The Oldsmobile in the 50's was the staple in many middle to upper
class driveways as it stood out from the Chevy but wasn't the high
price of the Cadillac or Buick. These were mass produced for the
booming economy and growth in America. It was usually the only car
in the family and used for trips to work, grocery store, beach and
church. Didn't matter if you had two or eight kids, everyone piled
in and found a spot and enjoyed the ride!
Pleased to present this very nice and very original 1956 Oldsmobile
88 for your condsideration. It is powered by its 324 V8 with a 4
barrell carburetor along with an automatic transmission. The
current owner is an Oldsmobile enthusiast and did the following
mechanical upgrades: rebuilt front suspension, rebuilt brake system
including hydro-vac unit for power brakes, re-cored radiator,
reconditionined carburetor, reconditioned steering box, and power
steering pump that uses only Type F auto transmission fluid.
Vehicle is a joy to drive down the road with simple features, V8
power and a look that instantly sends you back in time. These were
great vehicles that provided the family with simple and comfortable
transportation.
