Vehicle Description
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab Short Bed Pickup
"America is still the land of rugged individualists, cue Bob
Seger's Like a Rock...and every one of them demands something
different from their Chevy truck. But they all want the same thing,
the most dependable, longest lasting trucks on the road. Like a
rock.". This was Chevy's ad from over 30 years ago and while some
things may have changed, we never have a shortage of older
Chevrolet trucks at Classic Auto Mall!
For consignment, a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD crew cab that's
been garage kept, not used in winter, and serviced every 3,000
miles per our consignor. It has a hidden gooseneck hitch, running
boards, and a commercial duty hitch out back. Conditions belie its
mileage so read on to learn more!
Exterior
Aspen White covers the truck and appears as trim on the grille and
front bumper cover where it is accented by a gray chin piece with
fog lights. Crew cab means it has full sized doors and that extends
the cab a good distance while including a usable short bed in back.
Wide side mirrors wear black which blends with the dark tinted cab
windows and Weston running boards, door handles, and of course,
tires. 4x4 is emblazoned on the bed which is covered with a rubber
mat and shows wear, so no worries about causing the first scratch
in the paint! White side moldings show some discoloration on the
driver's door and all doors have rain guards on the windows. Eight
lug 16-inch polished wheels wear 2565/75R16LT tires. Considering
the mileage, it's obvious this truck was taken care of as outer
flaws remain minimal and metalwork looks good.
Interior
Pewter Gray is the inside palette and first appears on the molded
plastic door panels which have retained their clean, unbroken
status and gray carpeted map pockets can hold much bigger things.
One reflector is missing from a rear passenger door. Gray velour
covers the front bucket seats and has also held up well with a bit
of compression on the driver's seat noticed. These are tall and
well padded seats, and the rear bench can easily accommodate three
people but two will feel like royalty with plenty of head room and
a pull down armrest. The leather wrapped steering wheel shows just
a touch of patina and shares the column with the shifter, all
leading to the standard gauge package with seven points of
information and a panel of idiot lights. An electronic range
selector is found with a series of buttons to the left while the
center stack houses the climate controls and a JVC AM/FM/CD radio
with AUX and USB. The wide floor is covered with low pile gray
carpet, showing some usage with a few stains and the headliner is
also evidence this truck has been of service.
Drivetrain
Under the hood, a relatively clean 6.0 liter Vortec V8, fuel
injected and rated at 300 horsepower. Underneath, a 4L80E 4-speed
automatic transmission gets things moving and sends power first to
the rear axle with 3.73 gears and Positraction and then to the
front diff with the same ratio. Power disc brakes all around are
employed to slow and stop the big Chevy.
Undercarriage
Stupendously clean underneath with typical surface rust, no errant
fluids, intact boots, and no greasy grime to speak of. A single
exhaust runs through a stock style muffler before exiting behind
the right rear tire. Torsion bar suspension is provided up front
and leaf springs in the back. You would not be able to guess the
mileage on this truck based on the underside conditions. Nice! That
said, we do note some flaking paint on a rocker panel.
Drive-Ability
Up we climb into the cab where the seats provide a comfortable post
from which to pilot this rig. The trusty 6.0 liter fires up and
sends us on our way and has adequate power and the truck provides a
smooth ride and is a decent runner. And we're not surprised that
everything functions as it should. While Classic Auto Mall
represents that these functions were working at the time of our
test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at
the time of your purchase.
Now you can tow your show car or race car and take your family
along with you! This truck has room, power, and comfort and thanks
to meticulous maintenance, many miles of service ahead. Our
customers love regular trucks, and they often sell quickly as a
result. Put one of these in your stable and you'll be amazed at how
versatile and useful a pickup can be!
