Vehicle Description
Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this rare and fun
1991 Volkswagen Vanagon. This good-looking van comes standard with
3 doors: a driver door, passenger door, and a sliding rear seat
entrance door behind the passenger side door. The name "Vanagon" is
a portmanteau of van and station wagon and was coined by Volkswagen
to highlight their claim that the vehicle had the room of a van,
but drove like a station wagon. This Volkswagen Vanagon is also
called the Volkswagen Type 2 (T3) and it is the third generation of
the Volkswagen Transporter that was manufactured by VW. An
interesting and very useful feature of this Vanagon is that the
rear passenger and bench seats can be folded down and converted to
a bed. This model of Vanagon features a water-cooled engine. The
internal combustion engine of the Vanagon is located very low in
the back of the bus, under a carpet and an engine cover. Unlike the
previous model, this Vanagon features power steering, air
conditioning, power door locks, electrically controlled mirrors,
lighted vanity mirrors and a light above the glove box. This unique
Vanagon comes equipped with a 2.1L 4 cylinder "Wasserboxer" engine
backed by a 4 speed manual transmission. The "Wasserboxer" engine
featured an aluminum case, aluminum cylinder heads and aluminum
pistons with a forged steel crankshaft. This reliable engine
produces just under 100 horsepower, and was in use up until the end
of Vanagon transportation into the US in 1991. Give us a call today
to put this fantastic and useful Vanagon in your driveway!
