The Lancia Aurelia is a car produced by Lancia from 1950 to 1958, more specifically the B20 coupé version was launched in April 1951 and ended its life in 1958. On the occasion of the Turin Motor Show inaugurated on 2 April 1951, Lancia exhibited the B20 to the public for the first time, a splendid high-performance coupé with an attractive "clean" line. Even if, at the time of launch, the B20 was approved for three people (all to be accommodated on the single front seat), it can be safely said that this new Aurelia, in fact, inaugurates a formula that will enjoy enormous success in the following twenty years , that of the "2-seater plus 2 makeshift grand tourer". From 1951 to 1958, production was in the hands of Pininfarina, which built 3773 coupes. Despite a price that can only be "substantial" (2,600,000 Lire on debut), the B20 enjoyed immediate commercial success, so much so that, in less than 1 year, 500 examples were sold. At the beginning of March 1952, on the occasion of the Geneva Motor Show, the second series appeared, thus starting with the 501 model. The sales success also came to this second series, which was produced in 731 examples between the spring of 1952 and the spring of the following year, when the most classic, fastest of the B20s came out, the third 2 and a half liter series (2451.31 cm³). Powerful (118 HP at 5000 rpm) and fast (185 km/h). About a year passes and, after 720 examples of the "third series", the "fourth series" appears, which is exhibited to the public at the Turin Motor Show together with the new B12 sedan and which, like the latter, is characterized by the adoption of the “De Dion” type rear axle with semi-independent wheels.
