Gateway Classic Cars is proud to digitally present this 1946
Plymouth Super De Luxe. The Plymouth De Luxe and Special De Luxe
were full-sized automobiles which were produced by Plymouth during
the 1933-42 and 1946-50 model years . It was an upscale alternative
to the Plymouth Six (1933-1934), Business Six (1935-1938) and Road
King (1938-1940). In 1941, the Road King name was dropped for the
low trim Plymouths, which were referred as P11 and not renewed in
1942, making the De Luxe, the entry level and the Super De Luxe the
upgrade. This car is prime example of the after war time Plymouths,
painted in a nice bright red with nice details all around. We start
in the front with chromed grill, bumper headlight rings and
culminates up the prominent hood feature. Side chrome trim pieces
abound and finishes with the rear chrome bumper. The major features
of the outside include the adjustable color matched sun visor the
extra A piler lights and customized side rear view mirrors. The car
is powered by a quiet inline 6 cylinder engine mated to a 3 speed
transmission on the column. Power is transferred to the rear wheels
and put down to the pavement with color matching red wheels with
white walled tires accentuated with the chrome hub caps and beauty
rings. The interior very chic for the day in black. The dash is
black with chrome switches and accents with wood inlay panels.
Black vinyl bench seating and the oversized steering wheel is also
black with chrome. This is a great find and don't pass it up!!
