This is pretty neat. What we have here is a true 1-owner 1975 Chevrolet K20 Scottsdale 4x4 pickup that runs as good as it looks. It includes its original purchase contract along with a variety of other vintage documentation. It has also received a great deal of recent maintenance and is in turn-key condition for its next owner. If you are looking for a solid square body with an equally solid history then please read on.
On October 8, 1975 a gentleman named Wayne purchased this truck from Lynch Chevrolet in Waukesha, WI. As shown in the paperwork, he traded in his 1974 GMC pickup as part of this deal. But while that truck only lasted him one year, he held onto this one for the next five decades! To keep any rust issues at bay, Wayne took his new truck to Ziebart that December 4 (receipt included) which was very effective. Over the years he had the truck repainted its original colors of blue and white. Note the factory Scottsdale trim and cab marker lights. He also replaced the rear bumper and the wheels (all originals are included). A bedliner and tonneau cover were also installed along with bed rails and nerf bars.
The engine is the original 350ci 4-barrel (LS9) and is backed by the also-original TH350 (M40) automatic transmission and NP203 transfer case. The original owner converted the truck to part-time four wheel drive with a kit from Wolverine that included Warn locking hubs. A full dual exhaust is present. Note as a 1975 K20 with a 7,500 pound GVWR, this one does not have or need catalytic converters.
The truck has seen a great deal of recent maintenance. It received a general tune-up along with a charging system service, new hoses, and new belts. The front brake calipers were lubricated and received new pads, while the rears were fitted with new drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, and lines. Some exhaust rattles were corrected and fuel lines redone. Dash lights were replaced and the windshield washer repaired. A new gear indicator was installed. And finally, the truck was fitted with four new tires and shock absorbers.
The interior is mostly original starting with the folding bench seat. It does show some wear but is pretty nice for being almost 50 years old. Note the original option decal is still present on the glove box door. The Scottsdale woodgrain trim dresses up the interior and looks nice against the blue dash. A full set of factory gauges is present along with a vacuum-based “Mileage Monitor”. The wipers, horn, lights, turn signals, radio, heater/defroster, and parking brake all work properly. An older aftermarket cruise control is present but does not function. A frame hitch has been installed along with a trailer connector.
It's not often you find such a pickup. We’re talking about a 1975 4x4 square body with only one owner! It has a handsome look and is in great operating condition with a surprisingly nice ride. Let’s see if the next owner can give this nice truck another 50-year run.
