This the first year of the Ford Thunderbirds, also referred to as Baby Birds, and this one sure does turn heads. It does NOT have a canvas convertible top but is a convertible because the hardtop is removable.It has power steering, power brakes, Hurst Slapstick automatic transmission, Ford electronic ignition, working electric fan and thermostat, rear wheel skirts, steel rims with period wheel covers on steel rims, a new roof liner in the trunk not installed yet, autocraft 2bl carburator, Holley triangular air filter, telescopic steering column, hidden up dated stereo system which l have not got working yet with a 10 disc cd player in the trunk and remote control, 6 volt period radio in the dash, which does not work now because the car has been equiped with a 12 volt system. All lights and signals work, tachometer, gas gauge, temperature gauge, interior light all work, but the clock does not nor does the blower fan as they are 6 volt like the radio. There is a power motor for the seat, which works but needs attention in order to operate properly. Tires are all great and the frame is solid. Chrome and emblems are as pictured and the body l have tried to show has had an early and inexpensive body job. I drive this car any time l want as the 292 ci engine has an incredible punch when matting it from 3rd into 2nd. It requires some cosmetic and mechanical attention, hence the reasonable price for a running, driving icon of the 50's. I have had this Bird, up to 80 miles an hour, and know she can do more. This car is for sale to a buyer, interested enough to show up and bring cash. That's old school, for an old school car. Call, text or email if there are further questions.
