1950 GMC CUSTOM PICKUP TRUCK (5 window short bed) Summary This restored and customized 1950 GMC 100 short-bed 5 window hot rod pickup truck is powered by a Chevy 350 V8 crate engine that sends power to the rear wheels through a Turbo 700R4 Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The engine and transmission are new with less than 300 miles. Many other assemblies and parts were installed during the rebuild project to get the truck sorted out. Handling, braking, and power make this truck a nice ride and eye-catching. The body is original except for the truck bed and rear bumper modification all done in steel. The unique truck bed is powered by an electric hydraulic lift that opens to around 30 degrees giving access to storage space. The battery is also located under the lift bed. The original build includes the following: • 1974-1981 Camaro front clip including Camaro front and rear disc brakes • Rear leaf spring/shock suspension • Holley 4 barrel Street Avenger 770 carb • HEI distributor • Updated fuse box and electricals • Custom SS fuel tank behind cab with marine-type filler cap • Custom black and grey paint with clearcoat and pinstriping • Interior includes cloth seats and velvet door and roof lining in a medium dark red and burgundy theme The new build centers on installing a new engine and trans.
