For Sale: 1970 Dodge Charger 500 in Edmonton, Alberta

Vehicle Description

1970 Dodge Charger 500 has a numbers matching 383 engine and 727 torqueflite automatic transmission.  The exterior color is FJ6 (green go/sassy grass green) hi-impact factory exterior paint as with confirmed production numbers only 45 (0.1 percent) 1970 Chargers produced were provided this color as this is the rarest of the hi-impact colors provided for Chargers this year.  The 383 is a factory 2 bbl. which has been changed out with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold and a 750 cfm 4 bbl. carburetor.  The original intake, carburetor and air cleaning housing remain with the vehicle to provide an option to restore it back to original condition. The axel ratio is original and has a 2.45:1 gear ratio providing extremely low RPM's for highway driving.  Prior to my ownership this Charger was in Arkansas and there was additional information that it had spent time in a museum on display for a period of it's time.  This Charger is also a factory air conditioned car which would support it was originally intended for a warmer climate region coming off the production line.  I had to provide the out of country inspection prior to obtaining registration so this car has had a very short life in Canada.  Under my ownership is has been driven a couple times a year over the summer months and spends most of the time stored in a heated garage.  The vehicle shows well and classifies as "good condition" as this has an older restoration which has been well kept over the last 54 years making this an excellent driver and maintained more to an original condition.  There are some minor imperfections with the older bodywork and intermittent gauge issues that contribute to the reduction of classification category as viewing the photos this vehicle appears and shows to be in excellent condition.  The known components that aren't currently original to the factory build numbers are the intake manifold, carburetor, air filter housing, rims, tires and lower interior door/side panels.  As previously mentioned the engine components remain with the vehicle and as for the tires and rims the Panther chrome wheels have been fitted with Nitto 555 Extreme tires with 245/45ZR16 on the front and 275/40ZR18 on the rear.  With the exception of the 4 bbl. carburetor change out all other non matching components were provided on the vehicle as I had purchased it 15 years ago.  This Charger has an extremely great opportunity with minimal effort and cost to be set back up as an original all numbers matching vehicle with all proper components.  Photos of the fender tag, broadcast sheet and serial number are provided for review.  Decoding the build information and production numbers can be reviewed and verified on the website 1970chargerregistry.com
