When Porsche debuted a new two-seat roadster for the first time
since the much-maligned 914 of the 1970s, there was some skepticism
from even the most diehard enthusiasts. But when this Arena Red
Metallic 1997 Porsche Boxster (and many others like it) came along,
it didn't take long for those reservations to fade almost as
quickly as the car itself. With just 80,491 actual miles on its
odometer, this stylish two-seater has retained its original body
panels and factory paint. The original equipment theme continues
with its striking Savanna Beige and Black two-tone interior. The
snug and sporty cockpit is highlighted by the Boxster's signature
three-pod gauge white-faced gauge cluster that features the

torque. Power from that mid-mounted six is then routed through a
slick-shifting five-speed manual transmission before being sent off
to the rear wheels. With just 2850 pounds to haul, Car and Driver
ran one of these drop-tops from 0-60 in just 6.2 seconds and
through the quarter mile in a respectable 14.8 seconds at 93 mph
back in April of 1997.
