Description:
This 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe four-door sedan is finished in
two-tone red and gray over gray cloth upholstery and is powered by
a 218ci inline-six paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual
transmission.
Interior:
The cabin features two rows of bench seats upholstered in gray
cloth. The push-button radio and the heater blower do not work, and
the crank for the driver-side rear window is broken. The
three-spoke steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and an
aftermarket wrap. A 100-mph speedometer is flanked by gauges
displaying coolant temperature, amperage, oil pressure, and fuel
level. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles.
Exterior:
The car was refinished under previous ownership in two-tone red and
gray. Features include yellow-lens driving lights, a two-piece
windshield, a Mayflower ship-style hood ornament, a cowl vent,
tinted glass, quarter-panel stone guards, and chrome bumpers and
trim. Imperfections including pitted bumpers, faded and cracked
taillights, loose side trim, and corrosion on both passenger-side
doors are discussed in the video provided.
Drivetrain:
The 217.8ci inline-six was factory rated at 97 horsepower. The
carburetor was serviced in preparation for the sale. Power is sent
to the rear wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual
transmission. Steel 15? wheels wearing polished trim rings and
Plymouth-branded hubcaps are mounted with 215/75 Kelly Explorer
Plus tires that were manufactured in 2010.
