The full-size cars of the 1950’s and 1960’s that were produced in North America were known for their beautiful lines, long wheelbases, and over classy appearance. This all rings true for this gorgeous red 1963 Pontiac Parisienne convertible.

The Pontiac Parisienne was the top of the line Pontiac sold by GM of Canada back in the early 1960’s. The vehicle features many chrome moldings and trim on both the interior and exterior giving this car a stylish appearance, and on the exterior this car resembles the appearance of a Bonneville. What separates this car from a Bonneville is that it not only was made in Canada but many components that are not readily seen are different. One can think of the Parisienne as a mix between a Bonneville and a Chevy Impala. Reason for this is that the car looks like a Bonneville on the outside, but its frame, suspension, and powertrain are what would be used for a Chevrolet Impala of the same year. This is why this Parisienne is powered by a 327 V8 that sends power to a Turbo 350 automatic transmission.

Besides the fact that this car has a unique makeup, it is even more special in the fact that this vehicle is also a convertible. The car sports a power operated black convertible top that is in great shape. Since this car was produced in Canada, and Canada is known for its inclement weather and cold winters, the convertible was not necessarily the most practical choice for consumers, and this can explain why there were so few of these cars produced. Only 69 Parisienne convertibles were made for the 1963 model year making this car a truly rare find.

This specific Parisienne has undergone a restoration 1,500 miles ago and is finished in a beautiful red that pairs well with the many pieces of chrome trim on the exterior and the Silverstone white wall tires the vehicle rides on. The car also features optional fender skirts and rear antennas on either side of the trunk that further gives this car an elegant and sporty appearance. Some additional mechanical features on this car include power steering and power brakes, which only help to add to the great driving experience this car provides. This is a great Sunday cruise vehicle that will not only turn heads but provides a smooth and comfortable ride that floats over the bumps.

Moving inside, the car sports a black interior with front bucket seats and center console. Sitting in the driver’s seat you are welcomed with more chrome trim on the dash and a beautiful large steering wheel. Other features inside include blue accent accessory lighting as well as a Super Deluxe Push Radio. Behind the front seats is a bench for two more passengers.

For those that are wondering, Parisienne is a French word that translates to “woman from Paris,” and was most likely chosen as the name due to Canada’s French speaking province, Quebec, and the fact that the car’s body has beautiful feminine curves and lines. Overall, this car is perfect for someone who is looking for something special. The Parisienne is a car that you do not necessarily see every day, and it something that not only looks classy and sporty, but it is a car that drives well too making it a great vehicle to simply look at or cruise around town in.
