Real SS, California car and believed to have original metal! Body
off frame restored! I was at a show in MN and a friend of mine that
builds cars was there. The problem was we both had our sites on
this one! We both recognized its quality throughout and loved the
sound and the color! I told him let's flip for it, heads I win,
tails you lose!
EXTERIOR: Repainted in the 1 year only Royal Plum, this is the
reason I had to have this car. The paint was applied with great
precision then polished to a glossy and reflective finish. It's a
beautiful color and sets it apart from the others. Looking down the
side of the body is 100% laser straight. All the panels are nicely
aligned, and the doors close like a new car. It has all the fixings
of an original SS, because it is, 138 is in the VIN. From the
blacked out tail panel to the correct emblems and the dual bulge
hood this SS is correct and proper. It's got a fresh vinyl top and
all new chrome and trim. It also has all brand new glass with new
seals and fuzzy strips too. It's sitting on factory style rally
rims that are wrapped in virtually new 15" reproduction radial
redline tires.
INTERIOR: Everything looks new from top to bottom! The headliner,
visors, seats, door panels, dash, carpeting, and even the 4 speed
Hurst shifter have been replaced and look amazing. It also has
brand new seat belts front and back so you can cruise with the
entire family. The builder added a Bosch triple gauge, and it has a
factory "blinker" tachometer. The only things that appear original
are the rearview mirror, dash gauges, and a couple of dashboard
knobs, but these are all in very nice condition. It has a retro
stereo in the factory hole with new speakers too. It's even got a
nice set of rubber floor mats. This is a beautiful and complete
interior!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 396 engine has been built and is easily
making 400+ hp. It's upgraded with a solid lifter cam, high rise
Edelbrock Victor Jr intake with a dual feed Holley carb and an MSD
ignition system. It's flanked with a set of long tube Hooker
headers. Brand new hoses, wires, belts all the way around. It has
power brakes. New brake master cylinder, steering gearbox, and
radiator all look fresh. It's equipped with a Delco battery topper,
dual horns, and even the squirters are hooked up. The underside of
the hood has fresh black paint and is complete with insulation. The
fender wells and firewall have both been neatly painted black and
it's complete with the original cowl tag.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb have
been repainted slick just like the body. The builder added
reproduction stickers and the weatherstrip has been replaced.
Believed to have all original and solid metal. That was the
seller's claim, and my buddy is a body man who confirmed it. It is
complete with a full size spare tire, jack assembly, and rubber
mat.
UNDERSIDE: With a full body off frame restoration, this car looks
amazing from any angle including underneath! Most of the steering
components have been replaced and look fresh including the gearbox.
The front suspension has been rebuilt with fresh ball joints,
shocks, and springs etc. The rear suspension has also been
completely redone with new shocks and springs too. It has power
disc brakes up front with fresh calipers and lines. The rear brakes
also look great with new lines and even the emergency brake is
hooked up. The exhaust system has been highly upgraded with long
tube headers and 3" pipes all the way back. It also has a crossover
and dual Flowmaster mufflers that sound tough. The entire fuel
system looks replaced including the gas tank, lines, and filter.
Peeking up at the 396 cubic inch it looks great with fresh Chevy
orange paint. Additionally it has the correct dated Muncie 4-speed
trans. And the correct dated 12 bolt rear with 3.31 gears as well.
The floors are all solid and smooth metal that look beautiful with
fresh black paint.
SERVICE: Our team of professional mechanics completed a thorough
inspection of this car and adjusted the exhaust, replaced the brake
booster, replaced the right rear wheel cylinder, replaced the right
brake light socket, replaced the speedometer cable, wired in a new
backup light switch, lubed the clutch cable, replaced the harmonic
balancer, replaced the carburetor power valve, and did an oil
change. This car is now ready to cruise with confidence!
A real '67 Chevelle SS with the 396 engine, 4 speed manual, and
painted Royal plum! Add in the fact that it's a body off frame
restored California car and I have nothing else to say. This is a
vehicle that sells itself!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
