I am listing my 1987 Buick Regal T Type. I have owned it almost four years. I bought it from a classic car consignment dealer in September of 2020. This car was owned by a gentleman that worked for GM for fifty years. When he passed, his son-in-law got it and soon after he put it up for sale through the classic car company. There is a lot of paperwork with this car, including a notarized letter stating mileage and condition from about ten years ago.
This car has an amazingly low 9,700 miles on it. In the four years I have owned it, I have only put four hundred miles on it. For those that may not know, this car is much more rare in production numbers than the Grand National. Only around 4,000 of these were made and the Grand National exceeded 20,000 units.
It is in excellent condition and was obviously garaged for its entire life. Body and paint are original and excellent. No rust. The interior is excellent also, see photos. The only thing I know it needs is that the fabric on the headliner is loose and needs to be re-attached. When I got it, we put in new plugs, plug wires, alternator, belt, battery to make sure it runs like a champ. Original 200-4R transmission with overdrive. It shifts beautifully. I put new American Racing wheels and Cooper Cobra tires on it last year (See photos), and they still have less than 50 miles on them. In addition, it also comes with the four original GN wheels that were on it from the factory. Three of the four still have the original tires on them.
This was the last year of the rear-wheel drive Regals. This is one of the few cars produced in the 1980's that could truly be called a “muscle car”. It didn't disappoint. The turbocharged 3.8L V6 engine is intercooled and fed by sequential fuel injection. It also received the Grand Touring suspension, which was a performance upgrade to help keep the power firmly planted to the pavement. This includes independent upper & lower control arms with coil springs up front with a 32mm diameter anti-roll bar. A four-link with coil springs, as well as a 19mm anti-roll bar, keeps the rear end in place. Direct, double acting hydraulic shock absorbers reside in all four corners. T-type brakes use discs in the front and drums in the rear as standard which has a significant Powermaster booster. This car has factory posi-traction. This is noted with the G80 code on the Service Parts Identification sticker on the inside of the trunk lid. Photo is in the listing.
Is it quick and fast? Oh yeah. I have an early, 500 hp Chevelle and this thing keeps right up with it. I hate to sell it, but I need the garage space and someone needs to own and enjoy it. Clear title in hand. I am pricing it to sell at $34,950.00 which is a great price considering condition and mileage. No trades.
Thank you for looking and I am happy to answer any questions or provide additional photos if requested.
