Vehicle Description
For decades Corvette has provided exhilarating, approachable
performance to anyone with access to a Chevrolet dealer. You might
say the storied brand has done it all. It's the flagship for
today's General Motors Company. It's the standard for sub-$100K
athleticism. And in the 1960s, deep in the first wave of muscle
cars, fine automobiles like this Bloomington Gold winning roadster
gave serious credibility to the line "Excitement Is Standard
Equipment". Are you a serious enthusiast who's looking for a
traditional, investment grade classic? Here's a premium slice of
the American Dream!
PURE CLASS...
This award-winning Vette's curvaceous body was massaged back to
glory during a thorough restoration completed by the current owner.
Like most C1s, the car was originally assembled at GM's
new-for-1954 St. Louis manufacturing facility. And, like most
restored C1s, its fit and finish presents much better now than it
did new. In fact, during the process of stripping the body bare, it
was noted that the body is remarkably clean, all original, and
showing no sign of previous damage. And today, layered in a classy
coat of Ermine White the car rolls as one spectacular classic
that's superbly detailed.
DUAL-QUAD
Tilt this roadster's glossy hood and you'll find its original 283
cubic inch, dual-quad V8 that was professionally rebuilt by Simonek
Performance of Wyckoff, NJ. The car's big 4-barrels, which breathe
through a small, louvered air cleaner, funnel life into a correct
Winters aluminum intake. At the sides of that intake, correct heads
hang finned Corvette valve covers over correct, fully restored
exhaust manifolds. Behind those manifolds, an un suppressed
distributor sequences fire through chrome-sleeved plug wires. And
in front of those wires, an aluminum, Harrison-branded radiator
circulates coolant through GM hoses and reproduction tower clamps.
In addition to its killer powerplant, this Corvette offers a
thoroughly detailed engine bay that's complete with an AC fuel
bowl, a tagged Delco-Remy generator, a small Harrison expansion
tank and a reproduction Delco battery. The car's first-rate
aesthetics, which mix smooth, Satin Black framing with a bright,
Chevy Orange core, create great texture and excellent contrast. And
naturally, the mill proudly displays a correct 3756519 casting
number.
FINE DETAILS
Flip this C1 upside down and you'll find a sturdy, road-ready
X-frame that's bolted to solid, virtually spotless floors. Behind
the motor, a stout Borg Warner 4-speed twists torque through a 3.70
geared rear end. At the ends of the floors, a fully restored double
A-arm front and solid axle rear suspension has been completely
returned to factory specifications. At the corners of the car,
standard drum brakes complement good handling characteristics with
solid and confident stops. Exhaust is managed by big, true-dual
pipes, which span a U-shaped crossover and factory replacement
mufflers. Power meets the pavement through stainless capped
steelies, which spin fresh 6.70-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewall
tires. And everything, from this Corvette's marked steering box to
lettered frame, is fully sorted and ready to go.
PURE GLORY
In keeping with the rest of this Vette's high quality restoration,
interior outfitting is both purposeful and enduring. The car's
textured seats, which are equipped with simple lap belts, show
factory fresh. Front and center, stylish, retro gauges and matching
clock look great decorating Chevrolet's famous dual-cowl dash. The
center stack remains clean and purposeful thanks to a factory radio
delete plate. At the middle of the floor, a petite chrome shifter
is as handsome as it is stylish. And in front of the driver, a
speed-drilled steering wheel spins a glossy red rim around a
polished cross-flag horn button.
Combining high quality restoration with acute detailing, and fresh
Bloomington Gold award, this investment grade Corvette is one of
the best classics money can buy! Call, click or visit
