Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this stunning and
completely numbers matching 1966 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible in
absolutely beautiful condition with only 29,140 original miles. It
looks amazing, runs great, and is an excellent driver that is ready
to be enjoyed. It is priced to sell, always turns heads, and gets a
TON of attention going down the road. The car is finished in the
beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Trophy Blue
(980) over Blue (418). Please peruse all of the photos, numbers,
video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice,
clean, and striking this Corvette really is.
I have personally put over 50 miles on this Sting Ray recently. The
car was flawlessly reliable with absolutely no issues at all and
was a true pleasure to drive. This Corvette comes with an NCRS
Shipping Date Report showing the car was sold new at Richard
Chevrolet in Freeport, NY, a reproduction window sticker, and the
owner's manual which are pictured in this ad.
This Corvette is "Numbers Matching" meaning that the engine and
transmission on the car are the correct and original units that
were installed new at the factory in St. Louis in 1966. Detailed
parts like the distributor, expansion tank, and even all of the
window glass is all correct and original. The last six digits of
the VIN are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured in this
ad, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also
original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main
case and pictured.
We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent
opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette at an unbeatable
value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than
the purchase price in years to come as the market on C2 Corvettes
is very hot right now and on the rise, especially for low mileage
and nice examples like this car.
The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of
the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad,
showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos,
video, list of numbers, and other information to get a true sense
of how nice, clean, and original this Corvette really is.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come
from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give
the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Corvette, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Trophy Blue exterior is in very nice driver condition. As one
can see in the photos the finish has a dazzling gloss, deep shine,
and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The chrome
looks great overall with no pitting. The convertible top is in
excellent condition with no holes, tears, or frayed edges. The rear
window is not yellowed or foggy. The wheels and correct 1966
hubcaps are in excellent condition with a nice finish and no curb
rash. The white wall tires look great on the car, they are sized
215/70R15 and are literally brand new with less than 10 miles on
them. There are some very tiny blemishes in the paint around the
car that were too faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is
really noticeable from about five feet away. As one can see in the
many photos of the underside of the car, it is very clean
underneath. The car has absolutely no rust issues at all. The frame
looks completely solid and we have included specific photos of the
areas most prone to rust to show how nice this car looks.
Window Date Codes
Please note that ALL the glass on this car, the windshield, side
windows, and even both vent windows are date coded and original as
each piece predates the car's body build date of March 8, 1966
(H08). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no
major accident history and never sustained significant damage.
Interior
The Blue interior of the Corvette is in outstanding condition. The
seats look just as nice in person as they do in the photos with no
holes, splits, or excessive wear. They are not worn in the typical
area where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is in nice
condition with no rips or holes. The chrome and other brightwork
inside the car has a terrific finish and looks great. The gauge
faces are nice and clean and the lenses are crisp and clear. The
AM-FM radio gets good reception and most importantly the dash has
never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The
power antenna works well. The door panels are in great condition,
fit to the door well, the door pulls are solid, and there no cracks
on the arm pad. The dash and console are in nice condition overall
with no fading or sun damage, there are couple tiny hairline
cracks, but as one can see in the photos it is hardly noticeable.
Both seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem
on Corvettes and an issue many buyers do not think to check. This
Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no
aroma of cigarettes at all.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well,
especially for a convertible, and the excellent condition of this
interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention
this car has received throughout its life and another great
verification of the very low original mileage.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. As stated
above I have personally driven the car over 50 miles recently with
no problem at all. The numbers matching engine starts right away
every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great on the
road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the
car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through
all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves.
Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the
car performs quite well overall. This Corvette has plenty of power
and is quite fast. The Wilwood brakes do not pull to one side or
the other. The shifter is tight, it does not pop out of gear, and
the clutch feels good. The car runs cool and does not overheat.
There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The gauge
shows that the engine makes great oil pressure. Also, the engine
compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, correct and complete as
one can see in the photos. Even the ignition shielding and original
valve covers are still in place.
The horn works as do all the exterior lights, dash lights, radio,
indicators, power antenna, and wipers. The blower for the heater
works on all speeds. Even the glove box light works. The modern
white wall radial tires also greatly improve the driving experience
while maintaining a vintage look. All of the gauges work and the
clock runs sporadically. The headlights and brights work and the
lights come up, which is a very common problem on C2 Corvettes. One
can observe the lights being raised and lowered twice in the video.
Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive
this car, especially with 4-speed transmission and the top
down.
