Vehicle Description
CPR Classic is proud to present this 1993 Porsche 964 RS America
which is shown in its original Black exterior over Black interior
with red seatbelts. This car has traveled just over 21k miles and
is cosmetically outstanding. It will be delivered to its next owner
in show-ready condition and could be entered into a full concours
class at a show immediately.
This example was delivered new in Houston Texas where it resided
with its first two owners. In 2003, showing 16,000 miles the car
was sold to its second owner and remained in Houston until 2012. In
2014 it was sold to its third owner in Ohio through Marshall
Goldman Motors in Cleveland. The car then spent a brief period in
Florida before making its way to a collection in Santa Barbara
California, where it has resided for the past 9 years. CPR acquired
this example from a client who has recently purchased a 911 from us
to replace it within his collection.
The car retains all original paint with the exception of the
driver's front fender. In 2012, the car was parked in a dry cleaner
parking lot when a BMW 5 series backed into the RS America, very
lightly creasing the driver-side front fender. The car was sent to
a high-end repair shop in Houston where the left front fender was
repaired and repainted. The quality of the repaint is so excellent,
that it still meters within factory specifications everywhere, and
the factory paint textures were replicated perfectly. Essentially,
you can only tell the car has had paint work based on the invoices
of the work having been performed. A police report documents the
light damage that was sustained in the incident.
The interior is simply perfect and all original. No modifications
have been made. The front seats look as if they've never been used
with no bolster stretching or fraying of any kind. The carpet kit,
door panels, dash, and headliner are all in outstanding original
condition. All electronics are sorted and function as they
should.
RS Americas were minimalistic cars, and this example is no
exception. Optioned from the factory as follows:
-Exterior - Black/A1
-Interior - Black Leatherette/Deep Fabric w/ Red Seat Belts
-Air Conditioner w/ Full Climate Control
-Michelin Tires
Mechanically this RSA is well serviced. For the past several years
the car has been maintained by Schneider Autohaus of Santa Barbra.
Upon arrival at CPR Classic, the car went through a full inspection
and was found to be in excellent overall condition. Our findings
were limited to a shift linkage bushing replacement, and a new set
of tires needed due to age. A set of Michelin tires will be
installed before delivery. The undercarriage is in beautiful shape
with factory cosmoline throughout, and the car's belly pans are
some of the cleanest we've come across. The car is free of any oil
leaks, with the engine cover found dry when we removed it. In
short, this is a very nice RS America from all standpoints.
The RS America is an inherently rare car that was born out of
necessity when Porsche determined that entering the US market with
their European model 964 RS was impossible. The net result was one
of the fewest produced RS examples in Porsche's history. Only 701
RS Americas were produced. They sported standard equipment such as
the M030 sport suspension package, and have approximately a
90-pound weight reduction over a standard 964 Carrera 2. It offers
a much more driver-focused experience that begs for an enthusiast
driver.
This 964 RS America offers a wonderful opportunity to own a
show-level example of an investment-grade Porsche. If you are in
the market for a 964, something unique, or simply a truly special
Porsche this particular car is a must-consider example.
