Vehicle Description
CPR Classic is delighted to offer this immaculate 1985 Audi Quattro
finished in rare Tizianrot Metallic over a Black leather interior.
This example has had just two owners since new, with the second
being a decades-long CPR Client, and has traveled just 31,200
miles.
The Audi Quattro is a unique 1980s homologation special that was
produced to homologate and support Audi's triumphs in the World
Rally Group B Championship, in which their Quattro rally car was
the first of its kind and dominated the sport.
This example is believed to be 1 of just 73 US production Audi
Quattros built in 1985. A total of 664 cars were built for the US
market between 1982 and 1986. The car sports a 2.2 liter inline 5
cylinder turbocharged engine with an original power output of
200hp. The engine is mated to a 5-speed 4-wheel drivetrain that is
derived from Audi's rally programme.
Delivered new in Potomac Maryland to its first owner, the car
remained with the original owner for the next 25 years being driven
sparingly, serviced, and stored. In 2006, the car was shown at the
Audi Club North America Deutsche Marque Concours where it won its
class. In 2010, showing 29,000 miles, the car was sold from its
first owner to a long-time CPR Client who has maintained it in his
collection over the past 14 years. The car has visited CPR on
several occasions during that time. During the most recent
ownership, only several thousand miles have been added while
carrying out a multitude of service work to maintain the car's
preservation and maintenance.
The car retains all original books, jack, tool kit, spare tire,
original dealership brochures, and a thorough records set, which
are included in the sale.
Optioned as follows from the factory:
R85- North American market vehicle
079 - Leather trim
372- North American Code (unknown)
478 - Wheel disc Aluminum - 8J x 15 H2 ET24
560 - Steel Sliding Roof
647 - North American code (unknown)
992- North American code (unknown) (please share if you do!)
This example remains stock outside of several very tasteful
modifications that only enhance the car's aesthetic and
driveability. Factory European headlights have been added, along
with an upgraded K24 Turbocharger, updated water cooling kit, and a
2Bennett performance chip raising the car's power output to 220hp,
from the factory 200hp. A later Blaupunkt radio is installed, but
the original radio is included with the car and can be installed at
the buyer's request.
An unusual but very cool offering, we find this example to be one
of the best available anywhere on the market currently. It is of
the lowest mileage, unmolested, and thoroughly original including
all original paint. If you are in the market for an Audi Quattro or
just something unique and different to add to your collection, this
is a must-consider car.
