Vehicle Description
In 1969, a lot of changes were happening at General Motors and the
Chevelle. On November 20th, 1969, GM announced that the 396 V8 was
no longer an option, and the 454 was taking over. Little did
everyone know, but the LS6 454 was born and taking over the
streets.
This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 no longer has a 396 under the
hood. It is now equipped with a LS6 454 that has been punched out
to a 468 Big Block. The LS6 Heads have been ported and polished to
improve performance. Sitting on top of the motor is a set of Holley
600cfm 4-barrel carburetors and an Offenhauser intake. At the
bottom, there is a steel crank and a set of TRW Forged domed
pistons ready for the fuel being pumped into the motor. Paired with
the motor is a M22 Muncie 4-speed that is backed by a 12 Bolt rear
end with 3.08 gears with Posi-traction. Although one might think
3.08 gears are weak, with the powerful engine, the car still
accelerates effectively.
Leaving the power aside, let's talk about the excellent condition
of the car's body. The car's fit and finish is remarkable, and the
Le Mans Blue paint shines beautifully in the sunlight. When you
glance inside, you will find the vibrant parchment interior along
with the 4-speed on the floor. There is also a modern radio in the
glove box connected to a high-quality sound system with two 12-inch
MTX subwoofers and an amp in the trunk for those who love listening
to music while driving.
This ride showcases how clean and well-maintained it is, which is
hard to find nowadays. Don't miss your chance to own an exceptional
Chevelle!
