Featured here is an incredible Chevrolet Square-Body Pick-up. This
truck is an extremely clean low mileage truck that has had some
tasteful upgrades but otherwise is a very original truck. This
short-box truck was repainted in the original dark blue hue over
clean sheet factory sheet metal, which as you can see from the
underbody required little if any rust repair. All the original body
side moldings are present on this truck and the originality of the
exterior is like a time capsule from the GM Truck Plant in St.
Louis Missouri, where this truck was assembled. The original
bumpers are in place and the chrome and related stainless trim
still shine with a deep brilliance. A rare detail that sets this
truck off is the factory chrome handrails on the bed which feature
the factory faux wood inserts. It is clear the truck bed has seen
little if any utility use based on the absence of any dents or deep
scratches characteristic of a truck that has been worked and used
as intended. The noticeable exterior modifications are the lowered
stance complemented with a set of 20 polished American Racing
wheels wrapped with a set of low-profile speed-rated tires. Inside
the cab is well preserved and the interior presents as strikingly
original. The carpet is clean with only some light wear and color
fade and is protected by a set of matching factory GM logo rubber
floor mats. The seat upholstery is the factory cloth velour which
is pure 1980's GM. The dash is clean and free of any cracks or sun
damage. Options include tilt steering, power windows and locks,
factory instrumentation, air conditioning, and auxiliary fuel
tanks. This truck also features the factory original 4-channel
Delco Stereo with digital AM/FM tuner with seek and scan function,
cassette player with Dolby noise reduction, and separate bass and
treble controls, which was top-of-the-line for GM products in the
1980s. Inside the glovebox are the original owner's manuals and
warranty booklets as well as the GM SPO option decal. Under the
hood sits a 305cid V8 with factory throttle body fuel injection.
The engine compartment continues the well-preserved theme of this
truck and is very clean with the factory decals, and assembly
markings still present with even the correct part numbers still
present on the cooling hoses. Power is transferred back to the
differential through a GM 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission.
Underneath the frame, cab and bed floorboards are clean and
rust-free, supporting this truck has not seen much if any inclement
weather. The suspension has been lowered 4 upfront with dropped
spindles and springs and 6 out back with lowering blocks and
matching gas shocks on all four corners. Braking is greatly
enhanced with a CPP power disc brake kit featuring drilled and
slotted rotors and high-performance calipers on all four corners.
The exhaust rumbles nicely through a custom bent dual exhaust with
X-pipe and stainless steel MagnaFlow performance mufflers. This
truck as you can see from the photos is simply amazing and would
make a great summer cruiser to drive to work on nice days or to
show and shines, whatever the case this truck will turn heads
wherever it goes. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific
questions. Thanks for looking.
