The Ford Galaxie is a full-sized car that was built in the United States by Ford for model years 1959 through to 1974. The Galaxie was Ford’s response to the mega-selling Impala made by Chevrolet. The full-size car was built with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout in a production that turned out to be a stroke of genius for Dearborn executives and a source of pride for Ford enthusiasts.
RB Collection proudly offers this incredible, highly original, unrestored 1966 Ford Galaxie 500. This handsome car has never been restored or wrecked and remains in highly original condition, except for the Gragar wheels (originals wheels will be sold with the car) and side pipes exhaust.
Bought new from Kelly Ford, Inc. in Conshohocken, PA, this car has covered fewer than 67,500 miles from new, under 3 ownerships only. The Purchase Agreement and Owner’s Manual for the car are available.
The body is straight with excellent, factory correct gaps, panel fit, and free of accident damage, while preserving all original features not only visually but also by paint measurement throughout the car. The original Black (A) paint is glossy and attractive, showing the original patina expected from a 58-year original paint.
The original Vinyl Black (#66) interior is in excellent order with no rips, tears, or stains. It retains the original steering wheel and shift knob. The door and interior quarter panels are original and likewise in excellent condition, with correct trim and finishes. The Black carpeting is excellent, and the original radio is still in place and working.
The 352 engine with 250 HP presents factory correct, including the Autolite alternator stamp.
On the road is where this Galaxie truly shines. You can feel this is a genuine, original car in the way it remains tight and crisp. The engine runs beautifully and exhibits no signs of smoke, leaks, or clunks. The suspension and steering feel planted and tight. The car rides smoothly.
