1972 Fiat 500L – Restored with New Abarth Engine & 5-Speed
I purchased this 1972 Fiat 500L while living in Italy in 2020 and imported it to Florida in 2022. The car originally had its stock engine, but after experiencing issues, I upgraded it with a brand-new, hand-built 36 HP Abarth engine shipped directly from Italy. The engine was professionally installed and has less than 3 hours of drive time since the installation.
In addition, I upgraded the transmission to a 5-speed transaxle (replacing the original 4-speed), which makes the car much more enjoyable to drive.
The restoration work was originally carried out in 2020 by a Fiat 500 specialist dealer in Aviano, Italy. I also have the original factory documents from when the car left the production line in Torino.
The car runs and drives great, and it’s a rare opportunity to own a classic Fiat with desirable upgrades while still retaining its authentic heritage.
